Version v1.0-2026-05-26 · Last updated 26 May 2026
1. Who can join
The Stepflow Affiliate Program is open to coaches, agencies, consultants, and creators who want to refer other coaching businesses to Stepflow. You must:
Be 18 years or older.
Hold a valid Stepflow account (any plan tier — including Starter or a trial).
Complete Stripe Connect identity verification before receiving any payout.
Comply with applicable laws and the FTC Endorsement Guides (or your local equivalent) when promoting Stepflow.
We may reject or terminate an application at our reasonable discretion, including for fraud, brand misuse, or violation of this Policy.
2. Commissions
Rate: 40% of the net recurring revenue paid by your referred customers, for as long as they remain on a paid Stepflow subscription. Net = the amount Stripe actually settles to us after refunds, chargebacks, processing fees, and applicable taxes.
Attribution window: 365 days. If a visitor clicks your referral link and signs up within 365 days, you are credited as the referring affiliate (last-touch attribution).
Snapshot: The commission rate in effect when a referral first pays is snapshotted onto each commission record. Subsequent rate changes do not apply retroactively.
Ineligible revenue: One-time setup fees, taxes, third-party pass-through charges, and revenue from your own Stepflow account or accounts you control.
3. Payouts
Method: All payouts run through Stripe Connect Express to the bank account you connect during onboarding. We do not store your bank details — Stripe handles them directly.
Threshold: Payouts are released once your approved-and-payable balance reaches a minimum of $50 USD.
Schedule:Approved commissions are eligible for release at the start of each calendar month, covering the previous month's activity.
Hold period: Commissions move from Pending to Approved 30 days after the underlying invoice is paid. This protects both sides against refunds and chargebacks (see Clawbacks below).
Currency: Payouts are made in USD by default. If Stripe Connect routes via a local payout currency, FX conversion is handled by Stripe at their prevailing rate.
Tax forms: US-based affiliates earning $600+ in a calendar year will receive a Form 1099-NEC via Stripe. You are responsible for your own income tax reporting.
4. Clawbacks and refunds
If a referred customer requests a refund, charges back, or cancels within the hold period, the corresponding commission is reversed:
If the commission has not been paid out yet, it is marked Clawed Back and removed from your balance.
If the commission has already been paid out, the reversed amount is deducted from your next payout. Persistent negative balances may be settled by invoice.
5. Promotion rules — what you can do
Share your referral link on your website, blog, newsletter, social media, podcast, or YouTube channel.
Write honest reviews and tutorials about Stepflow.
Use approved marketing assets (logos, screenshots, copy snippets) from the official Marketing Toolkit.
Disclose your affiliate relationship clearly wherever you promote Stepflow (e.g. "I earn a commission if you sign up via this link"). This is required by the FTC and equivalent agencies.
6. What you cannot do
The following will result in commission forfeiture and may terminate your affiliate account:
Self-referral: Using your own link to sign up your own Stepflow account or any account you control or operate on behalf of.
Trademark or brand bidding:Bidding on "Stepflow" or close variants in paid search (Google Ads, Bing Ads, etc.), or running domains/social handles that impersonate Stepflow.
Misleading claims: Promising features, guarantees, or income levels Stepflow has not endorsed. Earnings claims about coaching businesses you refer must be your own and properly disclaimed.
Spam:Unsolicited bulk email or DMs, forum spam, comment spam, automated bots, or any channel that violates CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, or the platform's own anti-spam rules.
Coupon / discount / cashback spoofing: Listing fake coupons on coupon sites to capture traffic you didn't originate.
Cookie stuffing: Forcing a referral cookie without an explicit click by the user (e.g. iframes, 1×1 pixels, pop-unders, malware).
Reselling or rebating: Offering cash back, rebates, or kickbacks to the buyer in exchange for signing up through your link.
Misrepresentation: Posing as a Stepflow employee, support agent, partner, or reseller without written permission.
7. Brand and content usage
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Stepflow name, logos, and approved screenshots solely to promote Stepflow under this Program. You may not:
Modify the Stepflow logo (recolour, distort, animate, combine with other marks).
Register domains, social handles, or trademarks containing "Stepflow" or confusingly similar terms.
Imply ownership, partnership, or endorsement beyond being an affiliate.
8. Confidentiality and data
You will not have access to referred customers' personal data through this Program. We share with you only aggregated stats (clicks, signups, conversions, your own earnings). You must not attempt to identify, contact, or market separately to anyone who signs up via your link without their independent consent under applicable privacy law.
9. Term and termination
You may leave the Program at any time by contacting support; we'll stop accruing new commissions on your account.
We may suspend or terminate your participation immediately for material violation of this Policy, fraud, or to comply with law.
Accrued, approved-and-payable commissions earned in good standing before termination will still be paid out according to the Payouts section, unless they relate to conduct that breached this Policy.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Program evolves. When we make material changes, we'll publish a new version and require you to re-accept it before continuing in the Program. The version you accepted, the timestamp, and your IP address are stored for our shared records.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Program is provided "as is". Stepflow makes no warranty as to the volume of clicks, signups, or commissions you will earn. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stepflow's total liability arising from or relating to the Program is limited to the commissions owed to you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Governing law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the state in which Stepflow is incorporated, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
13. Contact
